Payments of fees:

Our session prices are £100 for a full day, extended morning sessions that runs from 8am-3pm is £80 

After school care is charge at a £38 per session including afterschool pick up from local schools only. 

Our hourly rate is £15

Payment will be calculated by your sessions x 52 weeks divided by 12 months. This formula has been calculated to allow a monthly payment We ask that this be paid before the end of every month and advice that you keep in mind the time it takes for cheques and bank transfers to clear. If you are using voucher schemes please ensure you organise payments that will reach our bank in time.  

 

We are close on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas break, the Easter holiday and 2 weeks over the summer holiday.  There is no deduction of payment when the setting is close. 

Note: settling sessions are charge at a rate of £15 per hour. 

 

 

Government Funding (15 hrs and 30 hrs Funding)

Government-funded childcare is based on 38 weeks (term time) each year. This means families receive either 570 funded hours per year (15-hour entitlement) or 1,140 funded hours per year (30-hour entitlement).

At Kew Giggles childminders, we do not offer term time only (38 week) placements. So instead, we stretch your funded hours across the year, so your annual entitlement is spread evenly. This provides approximately 11.18 funded hours per week for the 15-hour entitlement and 22.35 funded hours per week for the 30-hour entitlement.

Your total annual funded hours remain exactly the same. Stretching the funding simply allows families to benefit from a consistent level of funded childcare every week of the nursery year.

Why Our Fees Differ for 3-Year-Old Children

At Giggles childmidners, we are committed to providing high-quality care, learning, and development opportunities for every child. Our fees for 3-year-old children may differ from other age groups due to several factors.

Enhanced Adult Support

Children attending our setting benefit from a high level of adult interaction and support. Unlike mainstream nurseries, childminders maintain staffing arrangements that allow children to receive increased attention, guidance, and individualised care throughout the day. This smaller ratio of children to available adults helps us support each child's learning, development, wellbeing, and school readiness more effectively.

Increased Resource and Activity Costs

As children reach the age of three, they typically participate in a wider range of educational activities, creative experiences, and learning opportunities. This requires additional resources, equipment, and materials to support their development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Food and Consumables

Older children generally consume larger portions at mealtimes and snacks throughout the day. The cost of providing nutritious meals, snacks, drinks, and other consumable items therefore increases as children grow.

 

Government Funding and Additional Charges

Government-funded childcare hours contribute towards the cost of delivering childcare; however, the funding received does not always fully cover the total cost of providing high-quality childcare, staffing, resources, meals, activities, training, premises, and operational expenses. Any additional charges and voluntary contributions are designed to support the continued delivery of our high standards of care and education.

Government funding & eligibility explained

30 hours Childcare Funding

For children aged 9 months to 4 years. Eligible working families can apply for 30 hours of childcare for 38 weeks a year, to use from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age.

15 hours Childcare Funding

For all families in England. For children aged 3 to 4 years.

Early learning for 2-Year-Old Funding

If eligible, 2-year-olds can receive up to 15 hours of funded childcare. This support covers up to 570 hours per year starting from the school term after the child’s second birthday. To qualify for the 15 hours of free childcare, parents must meet the specific eligibility criteria.

There are two sets of criteria for Early Learning for 2-Year Old Funding. If parents receive any of the following benefits, they can claim eligibility through the local authority where the nursery is located.

Income Support

Income-based Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA)

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

In receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Universal Credit, with a household income of £15,400 a year or less after tax (excluding benefi t

payments)

The guaranteed element of Pension Credit

A child who is looked after by the local authority

A child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

A child who has left care under an adoption order, special guardianship order, or child

arrangements

Eligibility for funding (30 hours)

Funding stretched offer

The funding provided by the Government only covers 38 weeks per year, in line with the school term.

This equates to:

At Giggles, we offer a ‘stretched offer’, which spreads the funded hours evenly over the year, helping families manage childcare more consistently throughout out. The total hours you are entitled to remains the same for the year.

Fee payments

Fees are calculated over 52 weeks on an annual basis and divided into twelve equal monthly payments. 

The below shows you a couple of our most popular scenarios to give you a clearer idea of how funding at Giggles might work for you (If you are eligible working parents for 30 hours childcare funding).

Please note, for 2-day plans, your entitlement is 20 hours, for 3 day plans you can access the full 22.35 hours entitlement where private hours are used to cover the remaining time. We only use full day sessions, and these are from 8am - 6pm and we require a minimum of 2 days including a Monday or Thursday in any booking pattern.

Essentials and extras include food (breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea) prepared by the childminders onsite, nappies, wipes, calpol, suncream, art materials and consumables.

For children over 2 yrs old attending funded days, a voluntary daily supplement charge is applied to cover Food and Consumables. This charge varies by age group, and is included in our monthly fees prices as shown below:

24–35 months: £15.50 per day (Food £9.00, Consumables £6.50)

36 months+: £20 per day (Food £10.00, Consumables £10)

36 months+: £20 per day (Food £10.00, Consumables £10)

 

Applying for funding

How and when you need to apply for your childcare funding depends on your child’s age, the

scheme and some other factors.

Wait for a decision. It might be instant but can take up to seven days.

Submit your eligibility code along with your National Insurance number, full name, and

date of birth.

Remember to reconfirm your eligibility every three months.

Once you receive your eligibility, please email your funding code and national insurance number

over to me.  A parent declaration form will then be sent via email to complete.

 

Please note eligibility codes must be reconfirmed by parents on your childcare account every three months. Parents will be sent reminders by HM Revenue when this is required.

Additional information

To ensure your child receives any funded childcare hours they are eligible for, parents are responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid funding code, reconfirming their eligibility with HMRC every three months, and providing updated information by the required deadlines. Please let us know as soon as possible if there are any changes to your eligibility.

Funding is provided in line with Local Authority rules and deadlines, including termly funding submission dates and provider transfer arrangements. If your child is moving from another childcare provider, funding may remain with that provider until any required notice period has ended, and midterm funding transfers may not always be possible.

If your child starts with us after the Local Authority funding deadline, funded hours will begin from the next available funding period. Until then, standard fees will apply.

We will always do our best to support you with the funding process. However, as all funded childcare is subject to Local Authority regulations and deadlines, there may be circumstances where funding cannot be claimed, is delayed, or is adjusted. In these situations, parents remain responsible for any fees that are not covered by funding.
